For all future conservationist wanting to develop skills, knowledge and connections to further their CV ready for the next steps in their career development. 

This module is number 1 in a series of modules that you can work through, each taking around 1-3hrs to complete. This module is compulsory and on completion you will gain access to a range of optional modules focusing on different animals, elements of zoos and conservation. 

To complete this module you need to get a pass rate of 70% and you will have unlimited attempts at the assignments. 

Learner Objectives:

Unit 1. Define the terms species, ecosystem and niche
Unit 2. Explain that biodiversity is considered at three different levels. variation in ecosystems or habitats, the number of species and their relative abundance, genetic variation within each species.  
Unit 3. Discuss the threats to biodiversity of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems and the reasons to maintain biodiversity.
